Day 10 | Into the Unknown

Read: Genesis 12:1–9

Key Verse: Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go forth from your country, and from your relatives and from your father’s house, to the land which I will show you.” – Genesis 12:1

There are few things harder than leaving behind everything that you have ever known, including the comfort and security that comes with it. To dial up the risk level even more, try leaving it all behind for uncharted territory! One can only image the barrage of emotions that Abram (Abraham) must have felt.

Even though Abraham didn’t know exactly what obedience would entail, it also wasn’t a complete shot in the dark either. He knew “the land” was something God had promised him, and that he could trust God to deliver on His promises. Whether we are leaving everything we have ever known, or simply leaving our comfort zones to follow God’s leading, we can still have the same trust as Abraham – that God will deliver on His promises to us.

Prayer:  Lord, please give me the strength and courage to obey Your leading in my life. As I obey, thank You for the peace and strength that comes with knowing that You will always provide me with exactly what I need to do what You have called me to do.
