When you hear the word “risk,” what is the very first thing that comes to mind? Danger? Heroes? Action-adventure movies? Or perhaps the word “risk” creates anxiety, because often (always) risking means going outside our comfort zones and areas of control. If we maintain control of the outcome, we aren’t really risking anything at all, are we?
Following Jesus is risky. Being led by the Spirit is risky. Getting involved and invested in the lives of those around us is risky. It takes us out of our comfort zone and we have to give up control. What would it look like for you to take a risk for Jesus? What would it look for you to take a risk with some new people, a new place, or a new experience to make an extraordinary impact for Jesus? In this new series RISK, we are going to take our cues from the God of risk and see how we too can take a risk in the adventure of following Jesus.
Here’s the series schedule:
March 23 – The God of Risk
March 30 – The Risk to Go
April 6 – The Risk to Pray
April 13 – The Risk to Share
