Sermon Series: ten

Ten Sermon Series

How do we know what God is like? How do we know what’s important to Him? How do we know what it means to follow Him? He gave us ten ways to answer these crucial questions—the Ten Commandments. Contrary to popular belief, the Ten Commandments aren’t a divine list of Do’s and Don’ts. The Ten Commandments reveal who God is and who we are. They reveal God’s heart, but they also reveal our struggles. This summer as we explore ten, we’ll discover what it looks like to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength and what it means to love our neighbor as yourself. We’ll also discover that the ten things God calls us to don’t come naturally. We desperately need the Savior who forgives us when we fail and the Spirit who empowers us to live out the heart of God.

Here’s the line-up for the series:

June 24 – #1 Know Me

July 1 – #2 Recognize the Counterfeit

July 8 – #3 Honor My Name

July 15 – #4 Take a Break

July 22 – #5 Respect Your Parents

July 29 – #6 Protect Life

August 5 – #7 Pursue Purity (Warning: PG-13 Content)

August 12 – #8 Trust Me

August 19 – Summer Sunday at the Farm

August 26 – #9 Tell the Truth

September 2 – #10 Be Content

I’m looking forward to seeing you and your guests during this series as we discover the heart of God together.

  1. Even though we couldn’t make it to every week during this series we really appreciated what you said in particular in the last sermon “Be Content” .. liked it so much I linked to my blog. I appreciated that you touched on so many specific areas that people may have trouble being content. Thank you for saying it like it is and not candy coating the truth about sin that is so easy to indulge in. – Ali
