“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18
Every time snow blankets the ground, I’m amazed by the beauty and serenity. I’m reminded of God’s promise of restoration through Isaiah’s words, “Though your sins are are scarlet, they will be as white as snow.” The contrast between scarlet, the color of blood, and white, the color of snow, couldn’t be more stark and startling. But the real reason that my sins are cleansed and white as snow is that Another shed His scarlet blood.
As we near Christmas, celebrating the Christ Child coming to earth, let us remember that Christmas wouldn’t be so beautiful without Good Friday when we celebrate the God-Man giving His blood for ours… His scarlet for our white.
